Conor Gillaspie has a new nickname: Dizzy Gillaspie! I’m sure someone, somewhere, is checking to see if that was the first-ever inside-the-park home run where the runner fell down!
Seriously, though. Are you a hitter who’s mad you can’t hit home runs at AT&T Park? You can still hit them to right! It’s so easy, you can fall down and still score! And if you can’t? Maybe you should stop trying to hit 410 foot shots, and hit the line drives to get on base and move people up. Or, we could build a team with a lot of speed. Start with this guy. Maybe add in this guy. And, oh….maybe spend the money on this guy. Now that’s a team made for this park.
Anyways, cheer up, Conor. You got your first ever home run in the majors! And it’s one to remember! And at least your nickname isn’t some weird animal. Because, if it was one…
