The answer to both questions, of course, is that Pablo Sandoval broke his hand.  Twice.

It’s kind of amusing that Theriot and Fontenot are two players who will always be linked to each other throughout their careers, since they are pretty damn similar.  Right down to the silent T’s.

But replacing one with the other is not doing much to improve the offense.  Which sucks right now.  It sucks balls.

Someone has got to figure out the formula to hitting with runners in scoring position.  There’s no way that this team, and only this team, can’t do it.

Well, okay, they aren’t dead last.  The .586 OPS the Giants have with runners in scoring position is 29th out of 30 teams.  But the Giants just got swept by the team that’s number 30.
