Absolutely awful.  Disgustingly awful.  Almost 1990’s 49ers New Helmet awful.

(Fun fact: I only saw the proposed new helmet in the San Mateo Times newspaper…what???  It was 1993, pre-internet…and from looking at the half-toned, black and white image, I really couldn’t understand why the 49ers were going with a silver helmet.
