Right now, the Seattle Seahawks are the rival of the 49ers. But that’s only because they are good.
It’s kind of silly. There was a point that the Arizona Cardinals were the 49ers rival. And a time the St. Louis Rams were, and even the Atlanta Falcons way back when.
I guess the Rams make real sense as a long term rivals, considering that they used to be from Los Angeles, but they really aren’t a “West” team except where it concerns NFL Geography lessons.
