The Lunatic Fringe

Joke Background: Barry Zito was in a car accident the night before Opening Day.  He was not at fault, nor intoxicated, but he was hospitalized briefly with stiffness.  He still made his first start last night, and while he seemed healthy, he wasn’t sharp to start his first game.

Sure, that may not be because of the car accident, but when you lose to the Dodgers three times out of four, you look for any excuse/reason.  Of course, after Zito gave up three runs in the first, he retired 15 consecutive batters.  It doesn’t help much.  Lincecum, Sanchez and Zito were each almost sharp.  Yea, well, this sure isn’t Major League Horseshoes.

This was not a fun weekend.
