The Lunatic Fringe

Confession: This script was written and the comic done before last night’s game for production reasons.  But, one win won’t be enough to pull the Giants out of a losing trend, no matter how good it looked.  (After all, the No-Hitter looked very good!)

Then again, I was all ready to dismiss the notion that changing the month could make a team look different, but the team looked very different last night.  The defensive miscues were gone, and if anything, it was replaced by excellent play.  Up and down the lineup, there were good at-bats, and not a lot of the weak groundouts.  And, of course, Lincecum continued a strong trend of starting pitching in the last few games.

I don’t know.  The realist in me thinks that turning the calendar page isn’t enough to change a trend…but that was a different team last night.  But let’s see them string together a few wins before getting too happy again…
