The Lunatic Fringe

I love pro football.

But the NFL as an organization is crooked as anything.

For instance, the league wanted a team in Los Angeles desperately, since it is one of the nation’s premiere media markets.  But it’s still happy to make a team moving there pay a $500 million dollar (or, half a new stadium) to move there…on top of the costs involved in the building of a new stadium.

Meanwhile, the Bay Area is hosting the Super Bowl, and the league is faster in getting the Raiders a “home” game in Mexico City while doing everything it can to sidestep and avoid any questions about keeping it in Oakland.  Heaven forbid they do anything substantial like help.

If the NFL isn’t careful, this will happen.  And they have no one to blame but themselves.
