Okay, maybe this isn’t as far as a team could sink… Sure, the Giants aren’t in contention for the number 1 overall pick in the draft next year.
They’re only 3 games back in what I will gently call a competitive division.
They are mostly the same team that won a World Series last year, albeit with a couple of injury problems. More, it’s a lot of players playing under the level they can.
But somebody needs to figure out how to light them up.
Because the combination of being no-hit, falling behind the Dodgers, and falling into last place all on the same day is pretty damn depressing.
Also, good job to Homer Bailey. Hell of a game.
And, clearly, Gregor Blanco is the judge of whether Perfect Games live or die, and he rules in the top of the seventh with nobody out.
