Perhaps the one thing I don’t think Bud Selig ever quite realized, and thus will always be a part of legacy: Baseball could move very swiftly and decisively…when it wanted to.  That is what made its plodding, hesitant, indecisive nature about so many other parts of the game so damn frustrating, and what left Selig so disliked by so many fans.

I hope the next commissioner is intelligent, is able to bring people together to help the game, continues to advance the technology of the game (such as with MLB Advanced Media), but mostly, I hope he gets s*** done.

Fare thee well, Bud.  Everyone can’t wait to meet your successor.
