What do I think of the Giants signing Jeff Francoeur?
I hope I’m wrong, but I don’t see it having a major impact. I was wrong, after all, about Pat Burrell.
Francoeur has had a lot of bad years and only one good one over the last half-decade or so. He’s decent against left-handed pitching only. He’s got mediocre defense. I don’t see him catching the Giants magic that guys like Pat Burrell and Cody Ross had in the past.
At this point, I’m hoping for slightly better play, putting a charge in Andres Torres to improve his game, and not making me have to spell his name very often. That’s it.
