Madison Bungarner has long been portrayed as the arbitrator of one of American baseball’s long-standing unwritten rules: Don’t celebrate too much. And the bat flip has long been the most over-the-top celebrations that those people hate.
However, international baseball has long celebrated the celebrations, from the Dominican to Japan to Korea.
Are bat flips, and other celebrations, too much?
San Francisco has long had only one hitter whose bombs were flip-worthy, and Mr. Barry Bonds never ever flipped his bat. But whether by talent or stadium happenstance, the Giants have long been on the pitcher’s view of this subject. Is it time to discuss whether the bat flip is too much?
