There is a lot coming out of the new Collective Bargaining Agreement, but the addition of the new Wild Card teams is bigger than anything not inside of Texas.

After last season’s ridiculously dramatic final day, was this the right time to say that such a situation would not happen again?  Then again, last year’s World Series ended in a winner-take-all game, and no one was complaining.

To me, a part of it is just like if they increased the distance from home to first base by 10 feet.  Sure, you’ll take away all the close plays that happen at 90 feet.  But then, a whole bunch of plays that weren’t close at all would now be close.  The same is true with the playoffs.  Sure, some close races would be ruined, but others that wouldn’t have been close would now be good races.  Baseball will survive.
